Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted that the club are open to making more signings before the transfer window closes on September 1.
The Gunners have had a brilliant summer thus far and have already made six signings including Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres to bolster the attack.
Arteta is reportedly eyeing two more signings in the final third and when pressed on the possibility, the Spaniard told reporters today:
“Let’s see what happens in terms of where the squad is in the next few weeks. We are actively looking at options, as well there are a few players, maybe, that have to leave, so we will be open to see what happens.”
It is an open secret that the Gunners are keen on landing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, but they are reluctant to meet the £68m price tag.
Instead, they plan to negotiate a long-term payment plan for a lesser amount, but Palace are reportedly eyeing 50 percent of the fee upfront.
Arsenal are likely to focus on player sales in the coming weeks before making a serious approach to sign the 27-year-old from the Eagles.
