In the game between Hertha and Karlsruhe on matchday 2 of the 2. Bundesliga, Hertha youngster Kennet Eichhorn made his professional debut to become the youngest ever player in this division.

A day and a name to remember: Kennet Eichhorn made his professional debut for Hertha BSC Berlin in their game against Karlsruhe on matchday 2 of the 2. Bundesliga!

“He is an incredible, exceptional talent. If he continues like this, all doors will be open to him. I have rarely seen anyone so talented at that age. He has a huge career ahead of him”, said teammate Fabian Reese about Eichhorn.

The youngster is just 16 years and 14 days old – the record stood at 16 years and 142 days before and was held by Karlsruhe’s Efe-Kaan Sihlaroglu.

Bonus fact: Kennet Eichhorn has received his first market value by Transfermarkt, which is set at €3 million, which makes him more than players like Jamal Musiala (€1 million), Lennart Karl (€1.5 million) and Timo Werner (€1 million), when they first started their professional career!

Eichhorn, who plays in defensive midfield, has been compared to Toni Kroos in the last few years and has already attrackted interest from Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt.
