Dortmund and Leipzig set to lose out on transfer target McAtee – Sky Germany

It appears the midfielder is set to remain in England despite interest from the Bundesrepublik.

Multiple sources, including Sky Germany, believe James McAtee has decided to join Nottingham Forest.

The news comes as a blow to several Bundesliga clubs’ hopes such as Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig.

All three of the teams – most notably Dortmund and Leipzig – were linked with the 22-year-old Englishman across the summer.

However, Premier League side Forest have supposedly fully agreed personal terms on a long-term contract with McAtee.

Negotiations with Manchester City are ongoing, and both Forest and the player’s camp are optimistic about reaching an agreement soon.

McAtee had an impressive run during England’s successful EURO U21 campaign in which he scored once and provided 2 assists in 6 games.
