Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Hans-Joachim Watzke is running for president against Dr. Reinhold Lunow
“At our next general meeting, I will be running for election as President of Borussia Dortmund.
“In doing so, I am following the request of the BVB committees. I have informed Reinhold Lunow of my decision in a personal meeting
“It would be an honor for me if, after 20 years of operational service, I could continue to support our club in this important position,” Watzke said.
Watzke’s first involvement at BVB was his role as treasurer in 2001, before being appointed as CEO in 2005 – a position he’s held to date.
