Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey is pushing to complete his transfer to Roma, with his agents flying in for talks, reportedly on loan for €4m with option to buy for a further €16m.

The winger was notably left out of the Aston Villa squad for today’s Premier League opener against Newcastle United, a further sign that he has made his decision to leave.

Multiple sources today suggest his representatives are already in Italy for direct talks with Roma over personal terms.

Sport Mediaset specifically put the figures of the offer as a paid loan for €4m, with an option to buy at the end of the season for a further €16m.

The Jamaica international just turned 28 last week and made the move from Bayer Leverkusen to Aston Villa for €32m in the summer of 2021.

He scored two goals and provided four assists in 38 competitive appearances for the Premier League side last season, but had injuries that stalled his participation from April onwards.
