Cameron Puertas is on the verge of joining a Bundesliga club from Saudi Pro League.
On Saturday, Werder Bremen completed the transfer of the Swiss international Isaac Schmidt. And, before the end of the transfer window tomorrow night, they’re ready to add his future national team colleague to their squad.
Cameron Puertas is expecting to get his Switzerland passport soon, and he’ll also switch clubs on the deadline day. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder is already in Germany to complete a loan deal to Werder Bremen from Al-Qadsiah.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Werder will seal the deal on a loan deal. His expensive market value (€13 million by Transfermarkt) and a €6 million annual salary are out of the Bundesliga club’s reach, but Al-Qadsiah agreed on the loan offer that will see the Saudi club cover the majority of his salary.
Bremen were interested in the player before he joined the newly-promoted Saudi Pro League club from Union SG for €15.3 million last summer.
