Rasmus Hojlund and Napoli have finally agreed a deal to move from Manchester United on loan for £5.2 million until the end of the current season, and from there Napoli will be able to bring the Danish striker to Naples on a permanent deal for £38.3 million. Hojlund has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford and has been allowed to leave for a new challenge.
Arrivals of Bryan Mbuemo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko all have meant that Hojlund is unlikely to be a regular first-team starter at Old Trafford, and the Dane has now decided to return to Italy, where he had many successful seasons playing for Atalanta.
Atalanta actually considering a last minute bid for Hojlund, but the forward had already made up his mind that he wanted to transfer to Napoli.
It is understood that Ruben Amorim and Hojlund have left on good terms, and that there is a small possibility that the Dane could have a second chance at Man Utd next season, should he fail to succeed at Antonio Conte‘s side.
