Gennaro Gattuso’s Italy face Israel in a crucial World Cup qualifying fixture tonight, where the CT is expected to pick a three-man midfield.

It kicks off at 20:45 CET (19:45 BST) in the neutral turf of Debrecen, Hungary.

The Azzurri sit third in Group I, three points below tonight’s opponents, so they must win this match to take the second placement and remain close to leaders Norway.

Italy secured a 5-0 win over Estonia on Gattuso’s debut this past Friday, and the Azzurri boss is expected to confirm a big part of the line-up that emerged victorious in Bergamo just three days ago.

Multiple sources, including Gazzetta and Sky Sport, suggest that Manuel Locatelli will start in central midfield alongside Nicolò Barella and Sandro Tonali.

There’s just one doubt, however, regarding the attack, as according to Gazzetta, Kean will start as a left winger, joining Mateo Retegui and Matteo Politano, while other sources report that Giacomo Raspadori will get the nod on the left flank, with Kean starting as a lone striker and Retegui going on the bench.
