The Lega Serie A have confirmed that Lazio players Reda Belahyane and Matteo Guendouzi have received one- and two-match bans as a result of their red cards during their 1-0 Derby della Capitale loss against rivals Roma over the weekend.

The only two players to have received suspensions after the fourth round of Serie A fixtures both play for the Biancocelesti.

Belahyane was shown a red card for a challenge that breached ‘serious foul play’ rules in the 86th minute of Lazio’s 1-0 loss to Roma. Guendouzi was then shown a red card at the final whistle for verbally attacking the match official.

Belahyane will serve a one-game ban, ruling him out of next weekend’s Serie A match between Genoa and Lazio. Guendouzi will be suspended for two matches, which means that he will miss the Genoa clash and the game against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico the following weekend.

Elsewhere, Genoa head coach Patrick Vieira has received a €15,000 fine and a one-game ban for disrespectfully criticising the match officials during his side’s 2-1 loss against Bologna

Like Belahyane and Guendouzi, Vieira will also not be allowed to participate in the upcoming Genoa-Lazio clash.
