Bundesliga Team of the Week – Matchday 5

Here’s our Bundesliga Team of the Week, highlighting the standout performers from Matchday 5.

With the fifth matchday of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season in the books, Bulinews Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has selected his Team of the Week:

Goalkeeper:

Daniel Heuer Fernandes, HSV

Helped HSV secure a clean sheet against Union Berlin with some crucial saves, including a penalty stop from Andrej Ilic.

 

Defenders:

Vladimir Coufal, Hoffenheim

Working tirelessly up the right flank, Coufal provided the assist for Hoffenheim’s goal and showcased his defensive solidity by winning five duels throughout the match.

 

Robin Koch, Eintracht Frankfurt

Koch netted a sensational a brace in Frankfurt’s dramatic 6-4 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach. He completed 91% of his passes and won four of five duels, demonstrating both attacking threat and defensive reliability.

 

Edmond Tapsoba, Bayer Leverkusen

Tapsoba played a decisive role in Leverkusen’s 2-1 win against St. Pauli, scoring the opener and maintaining composure on the ball with a 92% passing accuracy. He also won four of five duels.

 

Jonathan Tah, FC Bayern

Tah was rock-solid at the back against Werder Bremen, scoring a goal and winning every duel he contested. He was also extremely reliable in possession, completing all but one pass (99% accuracy).

 

Konrad Laimer, FC Bayern

Laimer was a dynamic presence in Bayern’s 4-0 win over Werder, scoring a goal and winning six duels

 

Midfielders:

Fares Chaibi, Eintracht Frankfurt

One of the standout performers in Eintracht’s win over Borussia Mönchengladbach, Chaibi scored a goal and set up two more.

 

Can Uzun, Eintracht Frankfurt

The youngster continued his impressive start to the season, contributing a goal and an assist in Frankfurt’s victory.

 

Johan Bakayoko, RB Leipzig

The winger was a constant threat in Leipzig’s 1-0 win over Wolfsburg, scoring the  winner and later winning a penalty.

 

Strikers:

Harry Kane, FC Bayern

After missing a few early chances, he returned to his lethal best in front of goal, scoring a brace to guide Bayern to a convincing 4-0 victory.

 

Mikkel Kaufmann, Heidenheim

Filling in for the suspended Budu Zivizadze, the Dane proved decisive for Heidenheim in their crucial victory, both scoring and providing an assist.
