Official Europa League MD2: Bologna vs. Freiburg line-ups

Riccardo Orsolini starts as a right winger, and Santiago Castro leads the Bologna attack against Vincenzo Grifo’s Freiburg.

It kicks off at 18:45 CET (17:45 BST) at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna.

The Rossoblu coach, Vincenzo Italiano, can rely on a full squad except for Benjamin Dominguez, Ibrahim Sulemana, Lorenzo De Silvestri and Ciro Immobile, who are not part of the UEFA list.

There are some rotations in today’s XI, but Remo Freuler returns in the starting line-up, joining captain Lewis Ferguson.

Juan Miranda rests as Charalampos Lykogiannis starts as a left-back for the Rossoblu.

Italy international Orsolini is the right winger today, and Castro is once again picked as the starting centre-forward.

Jens Odgaard gets the nod as an attacking midfielder, joining Orsolini and Nicolò Cambiaghi.

Bologna lost their opening 2025-26 Europa League game away at Aston Villa last week and are looking for their first win in the competition this term.
