There’s still no comeback in sight for Emre Can, who could reportedly remain sidelined until next year.

Borussia Dortmund have had to manage without their captain so far this season, with Emre Can sidelined due to persistent injury problems.
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the 31-year-old is not expected to make his comeback anytime soon and could even remain out until next year.
Initially, it was reported that Can was struggling with adductor issues, but recent speculation has suggested that a pubic bone inflammation might be behind his ongoing problems. However, both the player and the club have denied this.
The timing of the injury is particularly unfortunate for Can, whose contract expires at the end of the season, leaving him unable to prove he deserves a new deal.
Despite this, Bild reports that a contract extension – albeit on significantly reduced terms – remains possible, as Can is held in high esteem by head coach Niko Kovac and his teammates.
