Tottenham may have been given a crucial advantage over Chelsea in the race to sign Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo after receiving a €115 million cash injection.

The Lewis family has made an additional €115m available to Tottenham to signal that they remain fully committed to the club and that they are going nowhere. There have been persistent takeover rumours since the exit of chairman Daniel Levy, but all approaches have been emphatically rebuffed.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, this cash injection isn’t solely a warchest given to head coach Thomas Frank for transfers. Instead, the Lewis family want Spurs to use this money sensibly to become more financially sustainable.

However, this does not rule out that some of the funds will be used on attracting players in 2026. On the contrary, GIVEMESPORT posits that it could help the North London club attract at least one of their top targets.

In recent days and weeks, Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for Bournemouth superstar Antoine Semenyo, who is reportedly being valued in excess of €100m now.

Chelsea also want Semenyo

Given that Semenyo is one of the Premier League’s in-form players right now, Spurs are far from his only admirers. The Transfers Podcast exclusively revealed last month that Man Utd had very advanced discussions with the Ghana international ahead of the summer.

Chelsea, too, are once again targeting Semenyo, who has been on their radar since he was a teenager. In fact, the Blues could have signed him for just €2.3m in 2019, but they felt this asking price of then-club Bristol City was excessive.

Bournemouth are a selling club, so the 25-year-old is bound to be one of the protagonists of the next two transfer windows. Semenyo’s personal skills coach has already hinted that he will be playing Champions League football before long.

As for Tottenham, Semenyo isn’t their only attacking target heading into 2026. Sky Germany now reports that they have also taken a liking to Brentford winger Kevin Schade.
