Marcus Rashford has been in scintillating form for Barcelona since September’s international break, with the Catalan giants said to be keen on signing him permanently.
Barcelona’s move to snap-up Marcus Rashford permanently from Manchester United could become a foregone conclusion if he continues to impress. The 27-year-old touched down in Catalonia on a season-long loan deal back in July after Red Devils’ gaffer Ruben Amorim made it crystal clear the forward wasn’t in his future plans.
The Catalan giants do hold an option to make Rashford’s move permanent for £30million come 2026. After his eye-catching displays since September’s international break, Barcelona are keen to tie down the England ace – but are hoping to land a cut-price deal worth around £26million.
Rashford still has three years left to run on his big-money, existing Old Trafford contract, which he penned in July 2023 following a stellar campaign where he bagged a personal-best 30 goals for United in 2022/2023. Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo suggests Barcelona’s choice to secure Rashford permanently could become unavoidable, should he keep up his current level of performance for club and country.

Barca chief Hansi Flick has been upbeat when quizzed about the England star’s recent showings. “Everyone could see it in the last games. In Newcastle [scoring two goals] he gained a lot of confidence,” Flick said.
“It’s not always easy, and he has come from another league. He’s adapting well.”
Rashford’s first strikes for Barcelona came against Newcastle United in the Champions League last month. Overall, he has found the net three times and laid on five assists since touching down in the Catalan capital. Rashford, who had a stint at Aston Villa last season, has openly shared his future plans.
In an interview with TNT Sports, he said: “[I want to stay for] as many [seasons] as possible. We will see. I have to focus on trying to do my job and trying to help the team in whichever way I can.”
Now, his sights are set on gaining more momentum ahead of next summer’s World Cup finals, which England are poised to qualify for in the United States, Canada and Mexico. A win in Latvia on Tuesday evening will secure the Three Lions’ qualification.
