Bayern boss Hainer: “It’s still too early in the season to talk about the league title”

The Bayern boss cast his eyes forward to their meeting with Borussia Dortmund and the performance of Vincent Kompany as coach.

Bayern Munich’s supervisory board chairman Herbert Hainer revealed to Sky Germany that the squad has returned with a clean bill of health after the international break to face BVB.

“Our biggest concern during the international break is always that everyone returns healthy. This time, it seems everyone is healthy.

“If we win on Saturday, the situation will look very, very good. But first, we have to win the game. It’s still too early in the season to talk about the league title.

“We’re on an incredibly good run, and we want to win our eleventh game in a row on Saturday. First against second – both teams have started the season very well.

“We’re all incredibly excited about the game. It’s going to be exciting, and we’ll have to give it our all to beat Dortmund,” Hainer explained. 

Regarding the work of the German record champions’ head coach Vincent Kompany, the Bayern boss feels he’s doing “an incredibly good job”. 

“We’re playing very, very attractive football, scoring a lot of goals. The team is having fun, you can see that on the pitch – but also after the games.

“There’s an incredible sense of togetherness. The coach is responsible for that, and he’s doing an excellent job – both from a sporting and human perspective,” he added.
