Man Utd enter race to sign Levante striker

Manchester United could compete with Arsenal to sign Levante striker Etta Eyong when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Red Devils spent big on the services of Benjamin Sesko last summer, but they could pursue a new marksman next year.

Joshua Zirkzee has failed to provide competition to Sesko and there is a possibility that he could be offloaded very soon.

Eyong has now emerged as a top target for the Mancunian giants amid his excellent progress in the Spanish La Liga this season.

The 22-year-old signed for Levante on a permanent basis from Villarreal last summer and his form has been hugely impressive.

He has already bagged six goals and three assists in 10 La Liga games, and has his sights on securing a new club in January itself.

Eyong has already featured for Villarreal and Levante this campaign and he cannot play for a third club this term due to FIFA regulations.

Still, he is keen on joining a new club before returning to Levante on loan. Premier League clubs will need to pay €40m for his services.
