Luciano Spalletti and Damien Comolli shake hands (juventus.com)
Juventus have released a video of new coach Luciano Spalletti’s first day at the training camp, meeting the players and staff after signing his eight-month contract.
The former Napoli and Italy tactician has been appointed following the dismissal of Igor Tudor on Monday, while Next Gen boss Massimo Brambilla was the caretaker manager for last night’s 3-1 Serie A victory against Udinese.
Spalletti has signed a contract to June 2026, with an option to extend in case of Champions League qualification, but it is reported that is not an automatic extra year.
It means that even if Juventus finish in the top four this season, they still have the ability to cut their new coach loose and start again.
He was greeted at the Continassa training ground by directors Damien Comolli and Giorgio Chiellini, the latter reportedly the main push behind this decision.
