Bayern Munich are wary of Alex Grimaldo’s free-kicks ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

Grimaldo has scored seven goals this season, with four coming from his deadly free-kicks.

As Bayern coach Vincent Kompany stressed at his pre-match press conference on Friday, avoiding fouls near the penalty area will be a key focus to prevent Grimaldo from adding to that tally.

“We just hope there’s no dangerous free-kicks. That’s the truth,” Kompany said on Friday.

“I can spend ages explaining tactics, but there’s just the hope for no silly fouls and that he doesn’t have a great day with free-kicks – and that our goalkeeper helps out here. You can’t do much more. If we score one goal more, I’ll still be pleased.”

The game kicks off at Allianz Arena on Saturday at 18:30 CET.
