Arsenal have several injury concerns to manage after their win over Slavia Praha in the Champions League on Tuesday night
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping his injury concerns doesn’t worsen with no players expected to return in the immediate future. The Gunners have been hit by several significant absences throughout the campaign, with Viktor Gyokeres the most recent casualty.
“He [Viktor] hasn’t trained today [Monday], and we need to do some more tests and scans to understand the extent of the injury,” Arteta said ahead of the Champions League fixture in Prague. “So, we are digging in a little bit more to understand where we are in terms of the injury, and we will announce it when we know more.”
Even though Arteta’s comments about Gyokeres’ injury may prompt concern, there is a potential boost on the horizon for Arsenal.

After this weekend’s Premier League fixture against Sunderland, the final international break of 2025 commences, meaning Arsenal won’t feature again until Sunday, November 23 against Tottenham in the north London Derby, reports football.london.
Should the 27-year-old be sidelined for just a handful of weeks, he could miss only one more Arsenal fixture.
Currently, Gyokeres linking up with Sweden during the two-week break from club football appears unlikely, and such circumstances would enable him to stay at London Colney for rehabilitation.
Arteta rotated his squad significantly for the trip to the Czech Republic, though this scarcely affected his team’s display as they secured a comfortable 3-0 triumph in Prague.
Martin Zubimendi was suspended for that clash, with Declan Rice managing to avoid picking up a third booking that would have ruled him out of their next European fixture against Bayern Munich.
No fresh injury concerns emerged during the win over Slavia Praha, although there were some worries over a possible concussion for Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Brazilian defender required treatment for a cut on his face following an 18th-minute collision, but was able to complete the match.
Meanwhile, there’s optimism that Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke and Kai Havertz could all make their comebacks in November.
“I would say weeks, and some of them pretty soon, hopefully,” Arteta recently said about the four players in his most recent injury update.
“If they keep evolving the way they are doing. Difficult to put a game… We have an International break, and after that, I think we’ll have some back. I don’t know if it’s going to be all of them, some of them, but we’ll be quite close by then.”
Gabriel Jesus remains sidelined with the long-term knee injury he sustained back in January, although he’s anticipated to return during the closing months of this year.
