Paolo Vanoli has agreed the terms of a contract termination with Torino, so he and his staff will arrive to sign for Fiorentina on Friday.

Stefano Pioli was fired on Tuesday and the team was in action for the Conference League today under caretaker manager Daniele Galloppa, fumbling a 1-0 lead for their 2-1 defeat away to Mainz 05.

Vanoli became the hot favourite after initial negotiations with Roberto D’Aversa fell apart due to various reasons.

While some in the locker room were pushing for the return of Raffaele Palladino, the club turned to Vanoli to lead them forward.

He first had to negotiate the termination of the contract he had with Torino by mutual consent, and that was finalised this evening.

It means he will be in Florence tomorrow along with his staff to begin work with the Viola, putting pen to paper on a contract to June 2026.

There is also an option to extend for another year if Fiorentina are happy with his performance.

His first test is going to be extremely difficult, as this weekend he’ll face a Genoa side making their debut under new coach Daniele De Rossi.
