Paolo Vanoli has been officially announced as the new head coach of Fiorentina on a short-term contract until the end of the 2025-26 season with an option to extend.

Fiorentina parted company with Stefano Pioli earlier this week after a run of 10 matches without a win in Serie A at the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign. He has been replaced by Vanoli, who has been out of work since leaving Torino at the end of the 2024-25 season

Football Italia understands that Vanoli has signed a contract with Fiorentina until the end of the 2025-26 campaign with an option to extend for a further 12 months.

His first match will be an early relegation zone six-pointer against Genoa, who currently sit two points and two positions above the 20th-placed Viola. Genoa have also dismissed their head coach Patrick Vieira this week, and have since replaced him with Daniele De Rossi.
