Milan wing-back Alexis Saelemaekers is impressing with his performances for the Rossoneri, and Football Italia expert Alfredo Pedullà believes that the Belgian fully deserves a new contract extension in San Siro, despite his mistakes at the end of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Parma.

Saelemaekers: A well-deserved renewal and two Parma regrets

Alexis Saelemaekers continues to show that he is worthy and capable of being a Milan star.

A two-year extension to his contract, which is currently set to expire in the summer of 2027, is the least that he deserves for the strong performances that he has put in over the course of the 2025-26 season so far.

The Belgian is now a master of the Rossoneri right flank and has asserted himself as a guaranteed starter in Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

A few details still need to be ironed out before a contract extension is signed.

The former Roma loanee shone again away against Parma on Saturday, opening the scoring before winning the penalty that put the Rossoneri two goals up in the first half.

There were, however, regrets about the second half, specifically the back heel when he could have turned and shot, and the 82nd-minute counter attack where he missed a practically open goal, which, given the final scoreline, proved to be significant errors.
