Amorim on Lammens

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has heaped praise on goalkeeper Senne Lammens following the 2-2 Premier League draw against Tottenham Hotspur away from home on Saturday.

The Red Devils continued their unbeaten streak after a hard-fought point at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They were 1-0 up until the 83rd-minute before things went pear-shaped for them.

Mathys Tels equalised for Spurs out of the blue. Richarlison made it 2-1 for Spurs at the start of stoppage time, but Matthijs de Ligt salvaged a point for the visitors with a dramatic late header.

Speaking after the game, Amorim was certainly pleased with the performance of Lammens, who made two fantastic reflex saves when United were leading 1-0 at the start of the second half.

Amorim said: “He’s doing really well. He’s very adult and he understands that in the game a lot of things can happen.

“So it’s like a new game every time the ball is on the pitch. I think he at 23 years old. He understands that quite well.”

United find themselves seventh in the standings after the stalemate. They are still only one point behind the Champions League places and can break into the top four with a winning run in the coming weeks.
