It’s unclear if Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck will be able to take part in Germany’s World Cup qualifiers against Luxembourg and Slovakia this month.
Schlotterbeck injured his foot during Dortmund’s 1-1 draw with Hamburger SV at the weekend and could potentially miss the upcoming matches as a result.
“The foot has swollen overnight. It doesn’t look ideal,” Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said at a press conference on Monday.
“The doctors are examining it. We have to wait and see how it develops.”
The 25-year-old defender has earned 22 caps for Germany.
He started in both their 4-0 win over Luxembourg and 1-0 victory against Northern Ireland last month.
