According to information from Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt is seriously considering signing Kaishu Sano from 1.FSV Mainz 05.

The energetic, determined, and technically gifted Japanese player is reportedly “high on Frankfurt’s shortlist for a defensive midfielder”.

Sano originally moved from his home country’s Kashima Antlers to Mainz in summer of 2024 for €2.5 million.

He has become a regular starter and has not missed a single minute of play in the current Bundesliga season.

The popular German tabloid, feels a stay at Mainz is unlikely, as Sano wants to take the next step in his career soon.

The Japanese international, under contract until 2028, certainly wouldn’t come cheap – provided Mainz avoid relegation after their slow start.

Sano is now the second defensive midfielder to be linked with the Hessen club after rumours emerged regarding Brentford’s Vitaly Janelt
