Inter medical staff are on their toes after Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman confirmed Denzel Dumfries sustained an injury on international duty.

The Dutch side are set to take to the field in Poland for the 2026 World Cup qualifier on Friday evening.

Dumfries had been widely expected to start, but he might not even be on the bench after picking up a problem in training.

During his press conference, Koeman declared that the right-back is “still a doubt for tomorrow and I have an appointment with the doctor later” to discuss his condition.

If the Inter player is ruled out of the match, then the Netherlands are expected to turn towards Lutsharel Geertruida as his replacement on the right flank.

This is a head to head at the top of Group G, as the Netherlands are on 16 points, while Poland have 13 after six games apiece.

Dumfries has 69 senior caps for the Oranje in his career, having made his debut in October 2018.

The 29-year-old has scored 11 goals for his country, along with an impressive 21 assists.
