Mainoo could be fit for Everton clash

Manchester United have been handed a midfield injury boost ahead of the Premier League clash against Everton at Old Trafford on Monday night.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face the Toffees next week and they have the opportunity to jump into the top four with a commanding victory.

Ahead of the game, the club have received a boost on midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. He has returned to training after a minor injury this month.

The final decision will be made after Sunday’s training session. The United graduate may undergo a late fitness test before the league encounter.

Regardless, Mainoo is unlikely to make the starting XI on Monday.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes are undisputed starters in the centre of the park at the moment. Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo are poised to continue in the attacking midfield positions against the Toffees.

Matheus Cunha will continue as the makeshift striker, given Benjamin Sesko is out injured. He has been ruled out for the next few weeks.
