After a late Deniz Undav goal pegged Borussia Dortmund back to a 3-3 stalemate, captain Emre Can voiced his frustration at the result.

“Very disappointing. After leading 2-0 at half-time, we have to see it through. Then we scored to make it 3-2 very, very late and conceded a goal in return.

“That should never happen to us. We have to defend much better overall. That wasn’t good today. We just have to be more aggressive – especially me on the second goal.

“I completely misjudged the situation. I thought we were further to the right of the goal. It’s on me, and the other two goals were cheap too,” said Can, in his post-match interview.

BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel also offered his opinion on the dramatic game and underlined his frustrations at the concession of the three Stuttgart goals.

“In terms of chances, the result was perhaps fair, but in this manner, it is of course extremely frustrating again. All of the goals we conceded were avoidable.

“We need to be more focused. We have to be more consistent in defence. It was the work we’ve done in defence that has made us strong,” Kobel added.
