Jesus to play in behind-closed-doors friendly


Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has dropped a big fitness update on Gabriel Jesus ahead of the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium.

The Brazil international has been on the sidelines since January this year when he picked up a serious knee injury against Manchester United in the FA Cup third round.

Jesus has been working his way back to full fitness in the last few weeks and Arteta has revealed that the former Manchester City man will play in a behind-closed-doors friendly this week.

The Gunners boss did not reveal the opposition, but reports claim that the club will be United, with the friendly due to be played at the Sobha Realty training centre.

The teams will mostly comprise of academy players, but both clubs could utilise the opportunity to hand valuable minutes to first-team stars returning from injuries.

Alongside Jesus, Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres could be involved. For United, the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Benjamin Sesko could feature.
