VfB Stuttgart will be without Dan-Axel Zagadou for the foreseeable future after the centre-back suffered an injury in training on Wednesday.

Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß described it as a “significant muscle injury” a major setback for Zagadou, who has been plagued by injuries over the years.

“We were at the point where we felt he was coming back strong. This hit us hard,” Hoeneß said, as quoted by Kicker.

It is currently unclear when Zagadou will be able to return from the injury.

In addition to Zagadou and long-term absentee Ermedin Demirović, Tiago Tomás will miss Thursday’s Europa League clash against Go Ahead Eagles due to a muscle problem.
