Injury-time drama in Münster as Hannover collapse

Preußen Münster scored twice after the 90th minute to force a draw against Hannover.

Hannover missed a chance to momentarily climb to second with a win in Münster as the hosts found the net twice in injury-time. As a result, Preußen Münster are in a three-game unbeaten run for the first time since matchday 4.

The hosts found the net first with a well-worked move, but Oliver Batista Meier was in an offside position while providing the assist for Torge Paetow’s finish. Instead, they ended the half with a deficit as Hannover scored from their first real chance of the game.

Benjamin Källman showed why he’s one of the best strikers in the division with a clinical strike after a searching ball from Maik Nawrocki. The Finnish international got past Paul Jaeckel before beating Johannes Schenk’s replacement in Münster’s goal, Morten Behrens.

Källman should’ve scored his tenth goal of the season early in the second-half, but they had to wait until the 73rd minute for a second goal. Daisuke Yokota, who came on as a first-half substitute for the injured Husseyn Chakroun, scored his second goal of the season after some great individual play by Kolja Oudenne on the left flank.

The hosts didn’t give up yet with Batista Meier rattling the woodwork five minutes later. The former Bayern Munich youth player was fortunate in the third time of asking when Hannover’s half-time substitute Ime Okon fouled Lars Lokotsch inside the box at the start of injury-time.

Batista Meier scored the penalty-kick with aplomb for his fifth goal of the season. Five minutes later,  Münster leveled the score with a dramatic finish. Yassine Bouchama’s shot was blocked, but Zidan Sertdemir scored from the rebound with a brilliant finish.

The former highly-rated Leverkusen youth player returned to German football after a couple of seasons with Nordsjaelland. The 20-year-old Danish midfielder’s first 2. Bundesliga goal denied Hannover a chance to climb to second before tomorrow’s game between Paderborn and Elversberg.

Hannover will host Bochum in next weekend’s Topspiel, while Münster face an away trip to Darmstadt.
