SC Freiburg will have a chance to close the gap to the teams in European spots if they win away in Heidenheim. The hosts returned to winning ways against Union Berlin last week, and they climbed to the relegation/promotion playoff place.
Jordy Makengo and Eren Dinkci are yet to return from injuries for Julian Schuster’s side. Freiburg, who are looking forward to Thursday’s European fixture against RB Salzburg, are chasing back-to-back league wins only for the second time this season. Heidenheim are still without Budu Zivzivadze, Mikel Kaufmann, and Sirlord Conteh in the final third.
