Manchester United could swoop for the services of Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries at the turn of the year, according to Teamtalk.
The Red Devils have been long-term admirers of the Netherlands international and they were initially linked with him during his time at PSV Eindhoven.
The Dutchman has been a key player for the Nerazzurri for the past few years, but there is still speculation that he could pursue a new challenge away from Serie A.
Dumfries has a release clause worth €25 million in his contract, but the clause is only valid in the summer. Still, Inter Milan have not ruled out a mid-season transfer.
Should any club make a higher proposal in January, they could contemplate his sale. United are now mentioned as one of the prime contenders for him.
Dumfries is a natural in the right wing-back role and would provide an upgrade on Amad and Diogo Dalot due to his knack for making goal contributions.
