Gian Piero Gasperini has confirmed that Roma will still be without Artem Dovbyk for Monday evening’s Serie A match against Genoa, and that Mario Hermoso is a doubt approaching kick-off.

Roma injury update ahead of Genoa clash

The Giallorossi will be visited by their former head coach in Daniele De Rossi, who will lead his Genoa side into the Stadio Olimpico, hoping to pull themselves away from the relegation spots.

Roma will lift themselves back into the Serie A top four at the expense of Juventus if they are able to claim the three points on home turf on Monday night.

The Giallorossi will have to do it without centre-forward Dovbyk, though, who has been absent for the last five Serie A matches and will not be part of the matchday squad on Monday night, Gasperini confirmed during his pre-match press conference

There is also a doubt surrounding Hermoso, who is suffering with a sports hernia issue. He is expected to be part of the group, but it remains to be seen whether he will be able to play on Monday night.

“Dovbyk won’t be there,” Gasperini told the press when asked how the last week has gone for the Giallorossi. He continued: “We’ve been able to work, even with a bit of flu circulating at the moment. The rest of us should be there.

“The biggest concern is with Hermoso, who we still have to evaluate tomorrow. He has a sort of sports hernia let’s say. We’ll have to wait and see whether he’ll be able to play or not.”
