Juventus drew 1-1 with Lecce this evening as the visitors dug in to protect a vital point away from home.

Football Italia’s Player of the Match was Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone, for his authoritative presence in the box and saving Jonathan David’s second-half penalty.

Juventus: Di Gregorio 6; Kalulu 5.5, Bremer 5.5, Kelly 6, Cambiaso 5 (Kostic 6); Locatelli 6.5, Thuram 6 (Koopmeiners 6); Conceicao 5.5 (Zhegrova 6.5), McKennie 7, Yildiz 7; David 5

Best Juventus player: Weston McKennie – Another impressive performance from the American who was used in another new role today. Starring as trequartista nestled amongst Juve’s front line, McKennie scored the equaliser and worked hard in the middle.

Lowest Juventus rating: Jonathan David – Oh dear! Aside from his shocking penalty miss, the Canadian was poor this evening, in keeping with most of his performances since joining the Bianconeri in the summer.

Coach: Luciano Spalletti 6 – Switched up his formation again today, going with a four-at-the-back set up. However, it did not work out very well for the Old Lady, who created plenty of chances but really struggled to capitalise upon them. His substitutions did not change the game all that much and the coach will be disappointed.

Best Lecce player: Wladimiro Falcone – The Lecce goalkeeper made a couple of decent saves in the first half and saved David’s penalty in the second. Had a fairly busy evening and needed to stay alert with the Bianconeri dominating the match.

Lowest Lecce rating: Mohamed Kaba – Fortunate that Juventus did not capitalise on the penalty he gave away, the Frenchman was the weak link in Lecce’s midfield.

Coach: Fabrizio Del Rosso 7 – Standing in for Di Francesco after the coach was handed a touchline ban for comments, Del Rosso did about as good a job as any Lecce fan could have wished for. His substitutes helped dig in, and the coach set up his team to withstand heavy pressure from the Bianconeri.
