Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is edging closer to a return after recovering from the broken fibula he suffered during last summer’s Club World Cup.

Speaking at a fan club event on Sunday (via DPA), the German international revealed that Tuesday’s friendly against RB Salzburg comes too soon for him, but he expects to return to action “in the coming weeks.”

“It’s not just my decision. If it were up to me, I would have played last month already. We’re just making sure I ease back in properly and without fear,” said the attacking midfielder, who resumed team training shortly before Christmas.

“I’ve done a lot of training, and things are going really well. But we also don’t want to rush it. We’re taking it session by session,” Musiala added.

In their first competitive game of 2026, Bayern Munich face VfL Wolfsburg on January 11.
