Serie A | Fiorentina 1-0 Cremonese: Kean and Solomon to the rescue with late victory

Moise Kean came off the bench to snatch a last-gasp Fiorentina winner over Cremonese, with Manor Solomon making an impact on his debut.

The Viola were increasingly desperate at the foot of the table with only one win all season, ending 2025 with another defeat to Parma. Luca Ranieri returned from suspension, with new buy Solomon on the bench, but Edin Dzeko, Jacopo Fazzini, Tariq Lamptey and Amir Richardson missed out. Moise Kean was not fully fit either, having skipped training due to family reasons. Jeremy Sarmiento joined Michele Collocolo on the Cremonese treatment table, but Jari Vandeputte was available again.

See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Nicolò Fagioli stung Emil Audero’s gloves from the edge of the area in the opening minutes, while Fabiano Parisi came even closer when he nodded the Ranieri cross onto the bar at the back post.

Moments later, Audero got down to fingertip the Rolando Mandragora daisy-cutter round the base of the upright.

Warren Bondo was booked for a lunge and following a few more clumsy challenges, David Nicola decided not to risk a red card and hauled him off after just 29 minutes.

The referee pointed to the spot when Piccoli showed strength to hold off Federico Baschirotto and was brought down in the box. However, the referee changed his mind following a VAR review, suggesting Piccoli had started the foul, which had seemed fairly mutual.

This added to the tension and a scuffle broke out moments later involving players on both benches, while Albert Gudmundsson’s angled drive was parried at the near post in stoppages.

Fiorentina continued to dominate without finding a breakthrough, so Cremonese threatened as Jamie Vardy robbed Parisi to put a cross to the back post, Pietro Comuzzo making the decisive interception.

Solomon made his debut and Robin Gosens hit a scorcher straight at Audero from distance, while Baschirotto cut across to block Piccoli’s finish and Audero fingertipped a Gudmundsson cross-shot over the bar.

For all their domination, the Viola nearly went behind at the 83rd minute when Tonny Sanabria only grazed the Franco Vazquez free kick, forcing David De Gea into a one-handed reaction save.

Substitute Kean blasted over in the final stages and Alessio Zerbin fired straight at De Gea.

The deadlock was finally broken in stoppages when Solomon floated a ball to the back post for Niccolò Fortini’s header, Audero parried on the line with a leg, but only into the path of Kean to bundle over from point-blank range.
