Man Utd make €70m bid for Amad Diallo’s best friend

Manchester United are set to delight Amad Diallo after making a €70 million bid for a player the winger is “very close” to.

The sacking of Ruben Amorim earlier this week is poised to bring about a change in transfer policy, with the Red Devils no longer wedded to signing players who can fit into Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation.

And one of the first stars this is set to lead them to is RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande.

Yan Diomande to Man Utd: Huge bid has been made

Man Utd have already made an offer for the Ivory Coast winger and have even presented the 19-year-old a contract offer, according to CaughtOffside.

The Bundesliga side are demanding more than €100m for Diomande, who is under contract in Germany until June 2030.

United appear to have offered around €70m, which they have been told will not be enough to get a deal done.

Furthermore, Leipzig appear determined to hold onto the winger until the summer.

While the Red Devils face competition from Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham in the Premier League, they have done business with the Red Bull-owned club in the recent past, signing Benjamin Sesko from them in the summer.

Yan Diomande contract offer revealed

This relationship has allowed them access to Diomande to offer him a contract, the report states.

United have offered the player a five-and-a-half-year deal that would have an additional year thrown in as an option. The player has been offered around €3.5m per year.

What has Amad Diallo said about Diomande?

Man Utd star Amad Diallo is on AFCON duty with Diomande currently, and alongside the winger has reached the semi-final of the competition in Morocco.

The former Atalanta star has hailed his international colleague, claiming that he is a “very good” player.

“We’re also very close off the pitch, so that makes things easier on the pitch. And we’re selfless: we don’t play for ourselves, nobody tries to be man of the match,” he said.

“If I have the opportunity to pass to him, I pass to him; if he has the opportunity to pass to me, he passes to me. That’s what a great nation, a great team, is all about. You have to move forward together to win this competition.

“It’s not enough to have one player; you need eleven on the pitch, and that’s what we’re trying to do. Yan is a very good player; everyone knows that.”

Amad has endorsed Man Utd’s move for Diomande, but to land the RB Leipzig star, there are still many hurdles to clear.
