Genoa had been all ready to welcome new goalkeeper Bento on loan from Al-Nassr, but a red card has suddenly blocked the exit.

The shot-stopper was determined to make his move to Serie A in the January transfer window, having already come close in the past with Inter.

Bento must wait for Genoa opportunity

An agreement was in place to bring him over this week as soon as the game against Simone Inzaghi’s Al-Hilal was completed.

However, multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia and Fabrizio Romano warn that Al-Nassr suddenly changed their plans.

It’s because their other goalkeeper, Nawaf Al-Aqidi, was sent off in that match and will now be suspended for at least two games.

With their third shot-stopper injured, they cannot risk letting Bento leave right now, so are delaying the transfer for a couple of weeks.

With that in mind, Genoa could start to look elsewhere, unless the Brazilian manages to force them into letting him go to Serie A.
