Weston McKennie’s contract is due to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season, and as things stand, at least five different clubs have registered an interest in picking up the USMNT star in either a bargain deal or on a free transfer in June.

McKennie joined Juventus on an initial loan deal in 2020, which became permanent in 2021. He signed a four-year contract at the time, and then later penned a 12-month extension in 2024, which means that his current deal is set to expire in June of this year.

The versatile American, who has played in virtually every position on the pitch across his career, has played in 19 of Juve’s 20 Serie A matches so far this season, and is currently on a streak of 13 consecutive starts in the league. He has also been a starter for every Serie A match since the appointment of Luciano Spalletti as head coach in October.

Despite his importance to Spalletti, there is currently no agreement in place over a contract extension for the 26-year-old USA international.

As a result, teams across Europe are beginning to queue up ahead of a potential free transfer in June.

According to reports from transfer expert Ben Jacobs, two unspecified Premier League clubs have registered an interest in picking up McKennie. There has also reportedly been an expression of interest from Atletico Madrid.

This is on top of interest within Serie A, and a reported approach from Besiktas, whose chances of striking a deal for McKennie have been described as ‘not currently on the cards’.

Juventus are reportedly seeking a fee in excess of €10m if they are to sell McKennie in January, with less than six months remaining on his contract.
