Juventus defender Gleison Bremer reveals the advice received by Italy and Bianconeri legends Alessandro Del Piero and Giorgio Chiellini, regarding defending and how to return stronger after a knee injury.
Bremer has been struggling with physical issues over the last year as he sustained a knee injury in October 2024 and, more recently, underwent an arthroscopic selective meniscectomy on the medial meniscus of his left knee.
The Brazilian has been a key Juventus player under Spalletti, and even scored a goal in seven appearances across all competitions.
Bremer: ‘I get less tired’ under Spalletti

The Bianconeri, however, suffered a defeat in their last Serie A match against Cagliari, despite dominating proceedings.
“If you play well, it usually works. In recent years, speaking in general, the teams that dominate the game have won,” Bremer told Corriere della Sera.
Bremer surely is a fan of Spalletti’s playing style.
“I like it because we often have the ball and so I get less tired,” said the defender.
“Sometimes I tell myself: ‘Damn, this way I don’t even feel the weight of the injury.”
The Brazilian went on to reveal his role models: “Lucio. Then, once, Mazzarri told me I had some of Chiellini’s characteristics and that I should watch him. We got in touch, and now he’s a mentor.”
Bremer on Chiellini and Del Piero’s advice

Chiellini and Bremer didn’t play together at Juventus, but the ex-defender still gave precious advice to his successor at the Allianz Stdium: “In my first year here, Chiellini told me: ‘You have to watch the man too, not just the ball.’ He’s right, I’ve always thought that even though I’m Brazilian. The ball has never gone into the goal by itself.”
Bremer spent eight months on the sidelines following his knee injury last season, so what did he learn during his time off the pitch?
“I learned to play the guitar, an old passion of mine, and I had time for my family,” he revealed.
“Sometimes my daughter Agata, 5 years old, would tell me: ‘Dad, don’t get hurt anymore.’
“And then I read books. The Art of War and philosophy essays, especially Aristotle. Authors ahead of their time, with deep visions and thoughts. And then, during the rehab, the stories of Roberto Baggio and Alessandro Del Piero. I wanted to understand how to come back after a serious injury.
“Once, I ran into Alex at the J-Medical. He told me: ‘Take it easy, don’t rush and improve your mobility.’”
