Liverpool ‘interested’ in £47m star as Andy Robertson ‘price tag’ emerges

Liverpool have until February 2 to complete their transfer business and are being linked with several potential new signings

Liverpool have just over a week to go before the January transfer window closes for the remainder of the season. The Reds are yet to go into the market for any new signings, but there is still time for that to change.

Arne Slot’s side have been linked with several potential new signings since the turn of the year, and that is not expected to change as the deadline moves ever closer.

In terms of departures, though, reports in recent days have seen Andy Robertson heavily linked with a move away from Anfield, with Tottenham Hotspur mentioned as a possible destination if a deal can be agreed.

Whether an exit for Robertson would lead to Liverpool going into the transfer market for reinforcements remains to be seen, but there are still rumours about other deals which may be completed by the Reds before the deadline.

Next up for Liverpool is a home clash against Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday night, with Slot and Co. in fourth place in the standings after their victory over Marseille earlier this week.

Here, Mirror Sport takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.

Borussia Dortmund star targeted

Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a move for Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck, who is valued by transfermarkt in the region of £47.7m.

Football Insider claims the Reds have identified Schlotterbeck as a potential option to strengthen their centre-back options, although a move would not happen until this summer, if at all.

The report claims that Schlotterbeck could be available at a reduced price given the current uncertainty around the defender’s contract at Dortmund, which is set to expire in the summer of 2027.

Liverpool may be forced to go into the market for a new central defender with Ibrahima Konate’s future also uncertain with the France international’s current deal expiring at the end of the season.

Andy Robertson price tag

Liverpool have reportedly set their price tag for Andy Robertson as the defender edges closer to joining Tottenham Hotspur. News emerged on Friday that Robertson was a target for Spurs, with the Scotland international’s contract at Anfield set to expire at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail have reported that Liverpool have a £5million overall package in mind they would like to receive for Robertson’s signature, but it remains to be seen if that will be the final fee that would be agreed between both clubs.

Robertson was part of Liverpool’s squad for their Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Saturday night, and the Reds are next back in action on Wednesday night against Qarabag in the Champions League.
