Arsenal are among the clubs to have sent scouts to watch RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande in action in recent months.

The Ivory Coast international has been a revelation since his €20 million move to the Bundesliga last summer and he has emerged as a key transfer target for a number of elite European teams.

Diomande has registered 14 goal contributions in 20 matches across all competitions so far this season and Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all sent scouts to watch him this term, as per a report from German journalist Christian Falk.

The Premier League trio have identified Diomande as a potential new signing for 2026, with all three clubs eager to bolster their attacking ranks during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Diomande is notably viewed as an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah by the Liverpool hierarchy, while Arsenal want to add him to their first-team squad amid rumours that Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard could depart north London later this year.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for the 19-year-old, however Falk has confirmed that Leipzig’s €100m asking price has been deemed too steep by the Allianz Arena outfit.

Yan Diomande transfer message

Although Diomande has been widely tipped to secure a move to the Premier League this summer, RB Leipzig chairman Oliver Mintzlaff believes the club will retain the winger’s services until at least 2027.

Speaking to Sky Germany in mid-January, Mintzlaff admitted (via Bulinews): “As chairman of the supervisory board, I would say he [Diomande] will definitely be with us next season – even if there were an offer of €80m or €90m.

“You simply can’t let go of such a young player, whom we just signed, after only one year. He’s extremely young and playing his first Bundesliga season. We’ve worked to ensure that players can stay a bit longer.”

However, Mintzlaff also acknowledged Leipzig’s position in the European football food chain.

“The truth is that, while we are a very ambitious Bundesliga club, there are also other top clubs,” he admitted.

“In the past, we have repeatedly had to let good players go – partly to generate transfer revenue, and partly because they were ready to take the next step in their careers.”
