Enzo Fernandez’s future at Chelsea continues to be the subject of many transfer rumours, and these don’t look like disappearing anytime soon after a shock revelation.
The World Cup winner, who signed for the Blues in January 2023 for a then-Premier League record €121 million, has been linked with a stunning summer switch to Real Madrid or PSG.
Both European giants have been heavily linked with the midfielder, and now it has emerged that Chelsea have named their asking price for the 25-year-old, despite Enzo remaining under contract with the London side until 2032.
Chelsea name Enzo Fernandez asking price
Chelsea have set their asking price for the Argentine at around €100-110m, according to CaughtOffside.
Enzo Fernandez, meanwhile, has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €81.6m – putting him third among the most valuable Argentine players.
What has Liam Rosenior said?
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, meanwhile, has recently suggested that it will take something extraordinary for the Blues to sell the in-form midfielder.
Speaking to NBC Sports, he said: “I love Enzo because he’s world class in all of the roles you’ve just mentioned.
“You can play him as a deep-lying six who can get on the ball and make 100 passes a game. You can play him as an eight who plays box-to-box and arrives in the box and scores goals but also protects his own box. Or you can play him as a ten, because he can connect, he can create assists and score goals. He’s just a magnificent footballer.
“He gives me tactical flexibility for each game, against different opposition. My job is to find what functions around him the best so the team functions with him in the very best way.”
BlueCo have questions to answer
News of Chelsea’s willingness to sell Enzo Fernandez may come as a surprise for some fans, particularly amid rumours that Cole Palmer is also unsettled at Stamford Bridge and has been offered to numerous rival clubs.
Owners BlueCo have previously drawn heat from supporters over their policy of signing young players, but should these deals go ahead, it will be their sales that are next to frustrate fans.
