Former Liverpool and England Under-21s star Jordan Ibe was reportedly arrested after landing at Luton Airport last month.

Ibe, who now plays in Bulgaria for Lokomotiv Sofia, was charged with an alleged assault dating back to mid-December and quizzed by police.

The 30-year-old has been released on bail and is due before Croydon magistrates’ court on March 6, according to The Sun.

He had flown back from Bulgaria to go to court in a separate case.

A police spokesperson told the Sun: ‘Jordon Ibe has been charged with actual bodily harm.

‘The charge relates to an assault alleged to have taken place on Sunday December 14, 2025.

‘He was arrested at Luton Airport on Friday January 30 and taken into custody.’

Daily Mail Sport has contacted Ibe’s representatives for comment.

Last November, Ibe joined up with Lokomotiv Sofia after leaving eighth-tier Sittingbourne Town at the end of a 17-day spell. He is yet to make his competitive debut.

He once commanded a club-record fee of £15million when Bournemouth signed him from Liverpool in 2016.

His move to Bulgaria, joining the 11th club of his career, shows Ibe’s commitment to football after admitting in 2021 that he had suffered with depression for four years.

‘After a few difficult seasons, Jordan is ready to revive his career, and we all believe that this will happen at Lokomotiv,’ a club statement said.

‘The management of Lokomotiv wishes Jordon Ibe much health, happiness and success with the red and black jersey.’
