Manchester United and Chelsea were reportedly keen on appointing Jurgen Klopp as manager after his departure from Liverpool in 2024.

Klopp decided to step down from the Liverpool job after a nine-year spell in 2024 and has since been working as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer.

He has been linked with a return to English football on several occasions, and his agent has now revealed that United and Chelsea wanted his services.

In an interview with The Athletic, his agent disclosed approaches from the Premier League giants and clarified that Klopp snubbed the opportunity.

Liverpool won the Premier League title as soon as Klopp left. Arne Slot had a fantastic debut season and won silverware with the help of Mohamed Salah.

Salah was phenomenal during the course of the 2024/25 campaign and his drastic dip in form this term has contributed to the club’s downfall.

The Reds are presently sixth in the league with 42 points and face a challenge on their hands to qualify for the Champions League again.
