Rasmus Kristensen needs surgery on the ligament injury in his left ankle he suffered during Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach at the weekend, as reported by Bild.

This means that the 28-year-old Danish international will “most likely” be sidelined for the rest of the campaign, the German tabloid reports.

Kristensen is just one of several players on Eintracht’s long injury list, which also includes Ansgar Knauff, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Can Uzun and Arthur Theate, among others.

On the bright side for Die Adler, Jonathan Burkardt is expected to return to the squad for this weekend’s clash with Bayern Munich after a long spell on the sidelines.
