Mattia De Sciglio has broken his silence over his failed transfer to Czech side Hradec Kralove, firmly rejecting the club’s suggestion that he did not pass his medical.

The 33-year-old former Milan and Juventus defender had travelled to the Czech Republic earlier this month, completing medical tests and taking part in two training sessions over a three-day stay, before being told the move would not be going ahead.

Hradec Kralove, whose ownership group includes former Juventus director Pavel Nedved, issued a statement saying the club had evaluated “all results and circumstances” before deciding against signing De Sciglio, with sporting director Petr Pojezný adding that the defender would not have provided the “immediate help” they were looking for.

Ex-Juventus & Milan full-back De Sciglio: ‘Here’s the truth’

De Sciglio took to Instagram to offer a starkly different account of events.

The Italian insisted he passed all medical examinations, with his physical condition certified by official medical reports.

He also revealed he had been persistently approached by the club and received multiple versions of his contract over several weeks, often incomplete or requiring amendments, yet maintained full professionalism throughout.

In a pointed statement, De Sciglio wrote that he “firmly rejects any reference or insinuation” regarding the medical tests, calling the club’s conclusion surprising given the weeks of negotiations, the checks carried out, and his confirmed medical fitness.

He concluded by calling for mutual respect, transparency and professionalism to form the basis of any working relationship, expressing hope that similar situations would not be repeated, for himself or any other professional.
