Borussia Dortmund confirmed this evening that Champions League play-off opponents Atalanta have loosened there strict ticketing plans for next week’s second-leg in Bergamo.

Following confirmation from local authorities, all BVB fans who have legally purchased a ticket will be granted access to the stadium.

The news comes as a welcome relief after the Italian club threatened to only accept Dortmund fans who were resident in Germany.

Atalanta put their reasoning behind the decision down to ‘safety regulations’ – something BVB felt was masking “a form of discrimination”.

Since being overturned, Dortmund said they expressly welcome this decision to allow all BVB fans to visit the stadium as usual.

If relations weren’t already tense enough, a 2024 transfer between the two clubs sparked outrage for Atalanta’s president midweek
