According to Bild, Werder Bremen have made a written offer to Hertha BSC’s Michal Karbownik.

Since the 24-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, the left-back is free to negotiate with other clubs.

With the Green-Whites currently 17th in the Bundesliga and facing the risk of relegation, the contract offered to Karbownik is valid regardless of which division Bremen play in next season.

The former Brighton player has made 19 appearances for Hertha this season and has earned four caps for the Polish national team.

Karbownik already knows Werder coach Daniel Thioune, having played under him during a loan spell at Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2022/23 season.

In addition to playing at full-back, he can also operate in central midfield and as a wide midfielder.
